Akwasidae celebration: Otumfuo Osei Tutu II celebrates 25 years of ‘Local and Global Impact’

After celebrating his massive 74th birthday with a spectacular thanksgiving service at the St. Cyprians Anglican Church in Kumasi, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II also marked the moment with the Akwasidae celebration to commemorate his 25 years of leading the Asante kingdom to its glorious path.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for the past 25 years, has been a beacon of hope and inspiration to the people of the Asante Kingdom, as his journey throughout the years as king of the prestigious kingdom has brought a sense of unity and peace among the people in the region.

The Akwasidae celebration, which is sphere head at celebrating 25 years of ‘Local and Global Impact’ Of the Asantehene’s magnificent leadership, dignitaries like the Gã Mantse H.R.M. King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II graced the historic event. Other notable local chiefs in the Asante Region made an appearance to support the celebration.

A display of culture was dutifully showcased as traditional artefacts were brought out as a symbol of identity and heritage to mark the traditional Durbar in some remarkable fashion. The historical Golden Stool also made an appearance at the Akwasidae celebration in grand style, as it was carried in a carefully mannered way.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has arguably been one of the most influential kings to ever sit on the Asante throne for the past 25 years. His ability to navigate and execute accurate ideas in bringing progress and stability to both the Asante Kingdom and Ghana can’t be underestimated, as his leadership has had a huge influence on both the local and global fronts.
