Kumasi Asante Kotoko schooled Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium with a comfortable 2-0 victory in the Ghana Premier League, killing the hopes of the phobians as they seek to climb up the standings in the league in order to avoid any upset at the end of the season.

Kotoko spread their wings by taking the lead through a well-controlled and composed finish from their Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala Dese, whose goal made it 1-0, causing some nerves and panic in the camp of Accra Hearts of Oak as they pushed to cancel out Kotoko’s one-goal lead.

Steven Mukwala stepped up once again to cause pain to Accra Hearts of Oak as he scored his second and the Porcupine Warriors second goal of the afternoon, moving his total goals in the Ghana Premier League this season to 14 goals. Kotoko’s victory over Hearts of Oak sends some strong concerns to the Phobians as they gradually sink into the relegation zone.

Heart of Oak would have to come up big in their three crucial games to end the season against Bechem United, Nations FC, and city rivals Great Olympics if they really want to continue playing top-flight football.
