An Aide to John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari has strongly endorsed Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as Mahama’s running mate for the 2024 elections during an interview on the Uniiq Breakfast Drive.
Joyce Bawah Mogtari highlighted Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s remarkable capabilities, emphasizing her significant contributions to education and gender equality. She described Opoku-Agyemang as an individual of “enormous grace” who has consistently supported the National Democratic Congress (NDC) through challenging times.
Mogtari underscored that Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s performance as Mahama’s running mate in the 2020 elections was exemplary, demonstrating dedication and effectiveness. Retaining her for the 2024 elections, according to Mogtari, would be a strategic move that aligns with the NDC’s commitment to gender inclusivity and empowerment.
Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, with her background as a former Minister of Education and Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, brings essential experience and a strong educational foundation, which are crucial for addressing Ghana’s developmental challenges.
While the final decision on the running mate is up to Mahama and the party’s leadership, she believes Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang is a compelling choice among many qualified candidates.
This endorsement highlights the New Democratic Congress (NDC) broader efforts to support women in leadership and champion policies that promote gender equality and social justice.
