On GTV’s entertainment show Spectacle, aired every Friday from 8pm to 9:30pm, panelists endorsed Nigeria’s recent ban on scenes depicting money rituals, human sacrifice, and smoking, calling it a step in the right direction.

Socrate Safo, Chairman of the Ghana Classification Board, emphasized the influential role movies play in shaping a country’s image and impacting young audiences.

He urged filmmakers to be mindful of their content.

Filmmaker Ekeso Stephen, also a guest on the show, agreed that while such scenes can be educational, they become problematic when glamorized.

Blogger Snipper noted that the Nigerian government’s ban has come too late, as these harmful scenes have already been repeatedly portrayed in movies and remain in archives, accessible to future generations.
