A Professor and the Head of Directorate for Research, Innovation and Development (DRID) at the University of Media Arts and Communication, Godwin Este Sikanku, has launched a book titled ” Dr. Bawumia and the Modern Vice Presidency in Ghana”. The book launch was held on June 7, 2024 at the British Council in Accra.

At the launch, Este Sikanku delivered an engaging speech detailing the transformative impact Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has had on the vice presidency in Ghana.

The book delves into Bawumia’s initiatives and the significant changes he has brought to the office.

He also highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s major contributions, particularly his efforts in advancing digitalization.

Initiatives such as the digital national identification system, mobile money interoperability, and the paperless port system have modernized various sectors in Ghana, enhancing efficiency and transparency.

Sikanku emphasized that these digital advancements are not merely technical feats but foundational changes that strengthen the country’s economic and social structures.

Additionally, Sikanku applauded Bawumia’s commitment to political civility and social cohesion.

He noted that, Bawumia’s approach to politics is characterized by decency and empathy, fostering a more respectful and data-driven political discourse.

Este argued that this has set a new benchmark for political leadership in Ghana, making the vice presidency a more dynamic and impactful office than ever before.
