PNC announces GHC 100,000 filing fee for Presidential aspirants; members react

The Peoples National Convention, PNC, has announced the opening of nominations and the cost of forms and filing fees for aspiring presidential candidates. 

An official statement by the party has also given up to the 31st of August 2024 to complete its primaries to contest in this year’s elections. it announced that the cost of the filing fees for persons interested in leading the party in the general elections as Flagbearer is GHC 100,000.

The announcement of the filing fees after the statement by the Party has raised some eyebrows both within the party structures and the media.Some aspirants have raised issues with the fees and timelines. 

According to former National Chairman of the party, Benard Mornah, the decisions are disappointing, describing the fees as impediments. Another Presidential aspirant, Sampson Asaki Awingobit has expressed reservation about the timelines.
