The overlord of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, and his Sub-Chiefs gifted FC Samartex GHc100,000 and a cow when the victorious team visited the palace yesterday.
The gesture was an appreciation for FC Samartex’s impressive performance and historic feat by winning the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League. The Samreboi based club was officially crowned as the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League Champions on Sunday 16, June 2024 despite winning the trophy with two games to spare.
The lads pulled off a vintage performance in the last game to record a 2-0 win over Accra Lions to wrap up the 2023/24 season.
The Overlord of the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Council together with his Sub-Chiefs pledged their further support for the African campaign, demonstrating their commitment to the continued success of the club. This generous act will undoubtedly motivate the players and strengthen the bond between the team and the community when the team paid a courtesy call to the traditional council.
The Timber Giants will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League in the 2024/2025 season.
