Ghana emerged victorious in the men’s 4x100m relay, clinching the gold medal in a fiercely contested race against Nigeria in the final at the African Senior Athletics Championships in Cameroon. The absence of star sprinters Joe Paul and Azamati did not deter the Ghanaian team, as they put on a stellar performance under the leadership of Rasheed Saminu. The team clocked an impressive time of 38.46 seconds, showcasing their remarkable speed and teamwork.

The race was highly anticipated, with both Ghana and Nigeria having a history of intense rivalry in athletics. As the teams lined up at the starting blocks, the atmosphere was electric, with fans from both nations eagerly awaiting the outcome. The relay began with a burst of energy, and it quickly became clear that Ghana and Nigeria were the frontrunners, battling neck and neck for the top spot.

Despite the pressure, Rasheed Saminu anchored the Ghanaian team with unwavering determination. His quick acceleration and seamless baton exchange with his teammates kept Ghana in the lead. Saminu’s final sprint was nothing short of spectacular, securing the gold for Ghana and etching their names in the record books.

Nigeria put up a valiant effort and finished in second place, earning the silver medal. Their performance was commendable, but they could not outpace the well-coordinated Ghanaian team. The Nigerian athletes displayed great sportsmanship, congratulating their Ghanaian counterparts on their hard-earned victory.

This race was a testament to the high level of competition and camaraderie that define the African Senior Athletics Championships.
