The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana has inaugurated a 24 ultra-modern classroom unit block to enhance academics at the School at Anyaa in the Ga Central District.

The All Saints Lutheran facility is equipped with a mission to bring hope and Salvation to Ghanaians through the proclamation of the Gospel of Christ and contributing social responsibility. The project is to provide quality education based on Lutheran standards while aiming to create opportunities that ensure educational infrastructure in all the major districts in Ghana.

Speaking at the event, the MCE, for Ga Central Municipal Assembly, Ambrose Edward Tsegah highlighted the important role education plays in national development.
“It is said that Education is great, but to have a very good education is very great. Conventional wisdom has it that the best worth to give to your child is Education. so, seeing this very wonderful edifice here gives me great joy that it is going to add up to the others that we have in the municipality. I’m grateful to the church, the committee, and all members who contributed to this wonderful edifice”, he said.

“I know that it will benefit our municipality a lot. We, as an Assembly through our Municipal education, will be ready and available to support you, give you guidance, and offer you whatever is within our domain for these things to strive high and high. We hope that in the future, we will come and see another edifice just like where we are sitting now”.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church School is a private school with a group of devoted teachers.
They are dedicated to enhancing the learning journey through excellent teaching and support, thereby adopting a child- and Christ-centered approach to teaching and learning, leading every child down the path of self-discovery to ensure they achieve their full potential.

The school block which was affectionately named “LUTHER TOWER” is jointly financed by Ecobank Ghana Limited and Evangelical Lutheran Church Schools at a cost of 13-point-5 million cedis of which Ecobank contributed 9 million cedis. The building has three floors which include 24 classrooms, 2 large open offices, a Science laboratory, a Canteen, 3 Storerooms, a sick bay, and a computer laboratory.

Mr Tsegah, emphasized the importance of education as the best gift parents can give their children saying, “we believe in education, and that is why as a government, we have invested so much in free education. Adding this to the fleets Of basic education in the municipality gives me great joy. I stand here before you and pledge that we will fully support and give whatever right toward the successful and good management of this facility”.

The Director of All Saint Lutheran School, Joseph Lanbon urged the school authorities to properly maintain the property and reassured parents of the security of their children.

“All Saint Lutheran School started not in a good mood, the whole place was muddy, with some tainted blocks. So parents were not happy, bringing their children to All Saint Lutheran School and so Lutheran, we thought of the need to put up a very appealing structure”.

“That is why we came up with this modern plan, which is called the “LUTHER TOWER”. It is the hope of Lutheran School that come September, parents will bring their children for us to offer them quality education because our vision is to provide quality education and also position ourselves such that Lutheran school becomes a school of choice in Ghana”, he noted.

The Ga Central Municipal Director of Education Mrs. Adisa Tassa emphasized that education serves as the beacon of hope for the future and acts as a great equalizer for all individuals. According to her, education brings out the potential of a child.

“Education is the hope for the future. It is the equalizer for every individual. It brings out the child from security, from ignorance and then allows the child to achieve his or her potential. So anybody who is in the business of education is doing a great job”.
“And apart from education, no other work on this earth partners with God’s creation because education nurtures children so that they become useful citizens. So as we are yearning for quality education and this edifice is here, I am very hopeful that the human resources we train here will live up to expectations”.
“The teachers that are going to handle this child, I hope they will be of a good caliber so that they will push the government agenda of quality education and access to education forward”, she added.

Lutheran Schools Ghana operates six branches which include Holy Trinity Lutheran School in Kumasi, St Paul Lutheran School in Kanda, Accra, and St Andrews Lutheran School in Bunkpurugu, Northeast Region.
The Luther Tower is set to commence full operations in September 2024.
