The National Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Ghana, Pastor Edward Duodu, has rallied members of the Christendom to set aside their denominational differences and unite in their mission to save souls and populate the Kingdom of God in the prevailing social circumstances of turmoil and moral decline.

According to him, the global wars, coupled with the relentless quest for supremacy and youth delinquency, call for a profound spiritual awakening by projecting God’s name among all nations.

It is in this regard that the Christian fraternity in the Ashanti region is joining forces with each other to mount a vigorous evangelism campaign to reach out to many more souls, either to win them for Christ or fortify their faith in God.

Pastor Duodu made the clarion call in Kumasi at the launch of the ‘Global Crusade with Kumuyi’ 2024.

‘Global Crusade with Kumuyi’ is a non-denominational Christian movement to lead people through the gospel to God.

It is in response to the rising cases of corruption, lawlessness, environmental destruction, greed, avarice, armed robbery, among other anti-social practices in society.

The Movement, though non-denominational, is an initiative of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry with Pastor Dr. W. F. Kumuyi as the brain behind it and involves ministers of the gospel cutting across the various recognised groupings such as the Christian Council of Ghana, Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, independent churches, the Scripture Union, and Christian professionals.

Since the start of the Crusade three years ago, the ‘Global Crusade with Kumuyi’ has used various means to spread the gospel to 152 countries across the world, where more than 668 thousand, 700 souls have been either saved for Jesus Christ or healed, while some underserved communities have also been positively impacted.

This year’s edition of the Crusade, to be held in the Ashanti regional capital of Kumasi in Ghana, will start from the 25th to 30th of this month.

At the official launch of the Crusade in Kumasi, a congregation of leaders and representatives of various orthodox, denominational and independent churches supported the event.

According to Pastor Duodu, prevailing harsh and immoral circumstances in society require that members of the Christian faith set aside their denominational differences to impact the world with the gospel.

“The state of the world today, with wars and the relentless quest for supremacy, alongside the moral decay affecting our youth, calls for a profound awakening,” he said.

Pastor Duodu continued, “we need a major revival to sweep across this generation, and shake the foundations of this world, so that God’s name may be exalted…GCK aims every corner of the earth with the message of hope and redemption.”

A Trustee of the National Cathedral, Dr. Joyce Aryee, eulogised the Founder and General Overseer of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, for his deep commitment to the mission of Christy on earth that led him to start the soul-winning mission in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when the whole world had become despondent and in a panic mode.

Dr. Aryee, who is also the Executive Director of the Salt and Light Ministry, described the Global Crusade
mission as an African gospel initiative that requires the unflinching support of and participation of all adherents of the Christian faith.

“This is the time to close up our denominational ranks. This is the time to tap into grace and anointing. This is the time to seek for the double portion anointing for our ministries. This is the time to get what has eluded many a ministry for decades. And this is the time, for once, we must open our hands to embrace our own African gospel revivalists and show that, indeed, it is not disdainful of the Lord to take a people for himself from the African lineage,” she asserted.

The Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Samuel Pyne, commended the organisers of the programme for committing to positively affect the circular society through evangelization and social intervention.
The Mayor said, “I look at it from one angle. People call it corporate social responsibility, but I see it as a religious social responsibility because you’re doing the work of God.”

“With all these assignments, and I think, we’re going to see the grace of God,” he noted.

Mr. Pyne was upbeat about the numerous socio-economic benefits that the KMA, hospitality industry  and the residents stand to gain from hosting the ‘Global Crusade with KUMUYI’ during the period of the event and therefore pledged the support of the Assembly to ensure the success of the programme.

The 2024 ‘Global Crusade with Kumuyi’ will be characterised by other activities such as a free medical outreach, a Ministers and Professionals Conference, an Impact Academy for the youth and students to harness their talents and abilities with an in-person participation of Pastor W. F. Kumuyi throughout the programme period.
