The 58th Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission has opened in Alton Hampshire today.

About forty thousand (40,000) guests from across the globe are attending the conference. Known as the Jalsa Salana, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Conference is the largest gathering of Muslims in the UK and has been running for the past fifty-eight years.

The event serves as a platform to widen knowledge of Islam, deepen understanding of Allah, and promote peace. Over the next three days, eminent speakers are expected to address guests at the event center and millions of worldwide audiences on a range of religious topics and their relevance in contemporary society.

A key feature of the Convention is volunteerism, which one volunteer described a backbone of the Convention,” without it, the Jalsa can’t be done.”

The Spiritual Leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, his Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, who opened the event commended the volunteers and guests, urging them to cooperate with one another to ensure a successful programme.

The Emir and Leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, is leading a forty-member delegation from Ghana for the event.
