The 2024 presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Former President John Dramani Mahama, has reassured Ghanaians of his commitment to sustain the Free Senior High School (FSHS), policy.
He called on Ghanaians to disregard the lies been peddled by his opponents that he will cancel the FSHS policy when he and his party are elected.
According to him, he will revamp the FSHS policy, which he said has faced numerous challenges and calls for review from stakeholders.
Mr. Mahama gave the assurance during the NDC’s campaign launch in Northern regional capital, Tamale yesterday.
The 2024 flagbearer of the NDC again expressed his commitment to enhancing the education system at all levels if elected president in the 2024 general elections.
He further promised to abolish the double-track system, ensuring that all SHS students can attend school simultaneously.
“We’re going to improve the Free SHS. We’re going to work hard to remove the obnoxious double-track system so that all our children can go to school at the same time and close at the same time.
We don’t want a situation where our children come home and stay for four months before they return to school,” he pledged.
