Volta Region’s U-17 coach, Farouk Salifu Umar, is beaming with confidence as his team prepares to face Northern Region on Thursday at 2:00 PM in the ongoing KGL Foundation U-17 Championship in Prampram.

With two convincing wins and 6 points already in the bag, Coach Farouk is determined to maintain his team’s perfect record.

“We will make sure to take every single point,” he emphasized.

Coach Farouk added “We are here for the trophy, so we are taking it match after match. We played our first and second match, we won, the story ends, and then we think of the next match (against Northern Region). We will make sure to take every single point in the tournament.”

Team Volta is riding high with confidence by day, and Coach Farouk is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for victory.

Despite facing a few player challenges, including injuries and changes, the team is fit and focused, with the best U-17 talents from the region identified and fielded.

With a strong push toward the final in sight, Coach Farouk aims to win all Group A matches and lift the trophy on the final day. The team’s determination is evident, especially after a disappointing previous year.

The KGL Championship, which began on July 23, features the top U-17 players from ten Regional Football Associations, with the aim of identifying and developing young talent for Ghana’s youth national teams. The competition will conclude on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
