The New Patriotic Party (NPP), in Ashanti has reconciled with a member of the Party who stood as an Independent Candidate during the recent Ejisu By-Election. Former MP for Ejisu Kwabena Owusu Aduomi stood as an Independent Candidate against the Party’s wishes.

The Ashanti Regional NPP Council of Elders successfully facilitated the return of Mr. Aduomi to the party.

Mr. Owusu Aduomi, who is also former Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, broke away from the party in the run-up to the Ejisu bye election over concerns about the delegates voter album and other alleged irregularities.

A statement by the Secretary of the Ashanti Regional NPP Council of Elders, Victor Owusu, said the agreement was reached during a meeting with the Council of Elders. Mr. Owusu Aduomi said he has put everything behind him, adding that his return to the party is unconditional.

He emphasised that his umbilical cord is planted in NPP and that the NPP runs through his veins.

He further pledged to talk to his supporters and bring them back to the party.

The Chairperson of the Council of Elders, Rosemond Appiah Menka, expressed appreciation to Mr. Owusu Aduomi for honouring the invitation of the Council and the comeback. She noted that his return to the party will go a long way to bolster the fortunes of the NPP in the December 7 elections.

Vice Chairman of the Council of Elders Dr. Moussa Jebir Kebir, appealed to the rank and file of the party to accept the return of Mr. Owusu Aduomi wholeheartedly.
