NPP Flagbearer Dr Bawumia enstooled “Chief of the Internet”

Chief of Nsawam, Nana Kwamena Ansah has enstooled the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as ‘Nana Ntentankesehene to wit ‘Chief of the Internet/Web’. The title is to honour him for the feat achieve through his digitalisation drive.

Dr Bawumia was enstooled when he paid a courtesy call on the Chief as he takes his nationwide constituency-focused tour to Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Ayensuano and Suhum.

In his campaign message, Dr Bawumia urged the Chiefs and people of Nsawam to support his vision to transform the economy and consolidate the gains made so far.

He indicated that under his leadership, he will work assiduously to revamp the railwayd sector to enhance transportation across the country.

He reiterated that he is a better candidate compared to main competitor.

“This election is between myself and former President Mahama. We all saw what happened during his tenure. We experienced power crisis for four years, he cancelled Nurses and Teachers Trainee Allowances among others. After losing the elections in 2016 and 2020, he is back again. I am a better option help me to annex the seat and I will be accountable to you as compared to my competitor who has only 4 years”, he noted.

Highlighting some achievements of the government over the years, Dr Bawumia said the NPP government has restored the Nursing and Teachers Training Allowances and introduced the Free SHS and Free Technical education which has been beneficial to many youth.

While admitting that unemployment continues to remain a challenge, the NPP government through its several initiatives has so far created 2.1 million job.

” Since the NPP came to power, we have done alot of things and all cn testify that we have performed better than our predecessor. The Free SHS which they say was impossible has been done. We have the 1D1F, One Constituency, One Ambulance, Planting for Food and Jobsand the Zongo Development Fund. Our focus is to equip One million youth with digital skills so that they can work remotely. Give me the nod to continue with the good works”, Dr Bawumia urged.

Dr Bawumia also also announced his intention to give allowances to Chiefs. ” I will empower Chiefs and pay them allowances. I will also revamp the railway sector especially for the Eastern and the Western Corridors which is key for the transportation sector

In a remark,  the Chief of Nsawam Nana Kwamena Ansah expressed gratitude to government government for the improved road networks in the area.

He said Dr Bawumia’s digital agenda has been transformative hence the title, Chief of the Internet. “I thank God for bringing Bawumia to my palace today. It’s historic for the people of Nsawam, portraying his knowledge in tradition and customers. I’m very grateful. I believe his digitisation agenda shall come to pass, hence we install him as “Ntentankesehene”, which means Chief of the Internet/Web.

The Queenmother of Nsawam, Nana Awo Yaa Amankwah adorned Dr Bawumia with his new title. Dr Bawumia, who is on his tour of the Eastern Region, later on visited the Nsawam market and main lorry station. He was welcomed by massive cheers from traders, drivers and passers-by who excitedly exchanged pleasantries with him.
