Ghana’s contingent for the 2024 Paralympic Games has arrived in the city of Paris ahead of the event.
The global event will see Ghana competing in four disciplines including Para Athletics, Para Powerlifting, Para-Cycling, and Para Taekwando for the 10-day event which runs from August 28 – September 8, 2024.
As part of measures to ensure the team acclimatizes and is subject to training ahead of the Games, the team arrived on the morning of Tuesday for a pre-game training camp in Gennevillier between August 13-21, 2024 before moving to the Games Village.
Led by the Chef de Mission, Henry Larbi the team is made up of 6 athletes, 3 coaches, 3 athlete aides, 1 physiotherapist, 1 Accreditation Liaison Officer and 1 NPC Secretary.
A team of 4 from Para Cycling will join the Ghana Paralympic Team before 26th August 2024 since they had planned to go for their training camp in UK and later changed to Abuja.
Following the uninspiring performance in the Olympics, Team Ghana will be hoping to redeem the country’s image with a medal haul when the competition gets underway.
