This year’s National Project Management Conference and Excellence Awards has been held at Kwahu-Nkwatia in the Eastern Region with a call on the government to collaborate with Project Management Institute of Ghana, PMI, to improve on project delivery in the country.
The President of Project Management Institute of Ghana, Mr. Frank Owusu-Asamoah who made the call noted that, the institute has singed Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with some Universities including GIMPA, UCC, KNUST and UG to inculcate project management skills into students before they come out into the job field.
The establishment of the Project Management Institute, PMI, Ghana chapter has been a significant milestone, fostering the growth and recognition of project management as a vital discipline in Ghana. It has provided a platform for professionals across various industries to collaborate, share knowledge, and advance their careers.
The Project Management Institute, with members in 214 countries, is the world’s foremost authority for the project management profession.
PMI sets industry standards, conducts research, and provides education and certification opportunities designed to strengthen and further establish the profession.
They serve all the local and national professionals in the space of Project Management.
This year’s conference was on the theme: “Sustainable Project Management Futures: Crafting a resilient and inclusive world”.
The President of Project Management Institute of Ghana, Mr. Frank Owusu-Asamoah explained the genesis of the chapter and the benefits one can get when you become a member.
Earlier, the Institute has engaged pupils of Kwahu-Pepease Presbyterian Basic School in the Eastern Religion in drawing and painting to test their capability in creative art.
They also sponsored the painting of the school block to make it more attractive and donated Religious and Moral Education text books to the basic seven, eight and nine pupils.
The donation of the text books was upon a request by the school’s management to aid learning in the school.
The Head teacher of the Kwahu-Pepease Presbyterian Basic School, Madam Irene Djabakuor Djorbuah who received the items on behalf of the school thanked PMI Ghana for the gesture and promised to put the text books into good use.
He asked them to continue to support the school to help address the numerous challenges facing them.
Awards were given to hardworking members.
