New Patriotic Party (NPP) Director of Communications Richard Ahiagbah, has appealed to Ghanaians to elect the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as president.
He believes voting for Dr. Bawumia will enable him to implement his policies, particularly those aimed at improving the welfare of healthcare workers.
According to Mr. Ahiagbah, Dr. Bawumia has explicitly outlined his commitment to enhancing the conditions of healthcare workers in the NPP’s 2024 manifesto.
In a post on his X platform, he stated, “Dr. Bawumia recognises the value and contributions of healthcare professionals to national development. A vote for him is a vote for a better healthcare system and the people who sustain it.”
Mr. Ahiagbah emphasised, “Dr. Bawumia is the preferred choice of healthcare workers and the best option for a healthier Ghana.”

I spent the past few weeks in a hospital bed at Komfo Anokye and am continuing treatment at home after a traumatic accident. During my time there, I witnessed firsthand the remarkable dedication and sacrifices made by our healthcare professionals—doctors, nurses, and others to ensure the well-being of their patients, often under extremely challenging circumstances.
As we approach the 2024 elections, I recommend we elect a president who will prioritize the needs of our healthcare workers by improving their working conditions, investing in their professional development, and addressing the age-old exodus of health professionals from Ghana.
Health is our most valuable asset; everything else is secondary without it. We need a leader who will ensure that those who take care of our health are themselves well taken care of.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has clearly articulated his commitment to enhancing the conditions of our healthcare workers in the NPP’s 2024 manifesto.
Bawumia understands that healthcare professionals deserve a leader who recognizes their value and contributions to national development.
A vote for Bawumia is a vote for the betterment of our healthcare system and the people who sustain it.
Bawumia is the choice of healthcare workers and the choice for a healthier Ghana.
