The government has announced an immediate ban on grain exports in response to the ongoing severe drought affecting several regions.
This decision, aimed at stabilizing food supplies within the country.
During a press briefing at the Ministry of Information om Monday August, 26, 2024 Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong emphasized that the export ban will remain in place until the situation improves, as part of broader measures to mitigate the impact of the dry spell on agriculture and food security.
The prolonged dry spells have taken a toll on Ghana’s agricultural sector, with eight regions facing significant crop destruction.
