In a recent interview on GTV’s Breakfast show, Veronica Commey, a renowned sports journalist interrogating the National Democratic Congress (NDC) sports policy outlined that existing stadiums should be up to speed instead of building new ones.
She stated that all the multipurpose sports centres built by the present government are in shambles, hence attention should be given to the already existing ones to ensure it’s sustainability since they are in abundance and currently not being taken care of.
She further urged the NDC to be in continuity so that a regime started by the incumbent government wouldn’t be truncated when another regime takes over.
“I am saying that, pay attention, ensuring that the existing ones are up to speed because they are abundant as we speak at this moment.
And whether you inherit it from the present government or not, it is Ghanaian,” she asserted.
Additionally she explained that facilities inherited from a government in power by another government shouldn’t be neglected but should be put to go maintainness standard because they are all for the benefit of the country.
