The Koforidua Area Superintendent of the Apostolic Church, Ghana, Apostle Precious Emmanuel Adade has urged politicians and the Electoral Commission to play their role effectively as it is expected of them before, during and after this year’s election.

This, Apostle Adade said, will help sustain the peace that the country has enjoyed for the past years.

Apostle Adade said this during the Area level National Women’s Convention held at Betom, a suburb of Koforidua in the Eastern Region by the Apostolic Church, Ghana, Koforidua Area Women’s Movement.

In an interview with GBC News, the Koforidua Area Superintendent of the Apostolic Church, Ghana, Apostle Precious Emmanuel Adade urged Christians to portray the life of Christ at wherever they find themselves.

He reiterated that as Christians and other religious groups in the country, they all need peace to worship their maker and therefore called on the Electoral Commission to do what is expected of them in the upcoming elections.

Apostle Adade emphasized that losing lives during an election does not speak well of the country’s democracy and appealed to political parties, the EC and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that no life is lost as a result of the upcoming election.

The Koforidua Area Secretary of the Women Movement of the Apostolic Church, Ghana, Deaconess ASP Beatrice Enyonam Dey, reiterated that Ghana is bigger than any politician in Ghana and so the interest of any politician of winning power should not jeopardize the peace of the country.

She added that political actors should think of the women and children as they embark on their activities before, during and after the elections as women and children are the vulnerable during any political instability.

As part of the convention, the church also organized a health screening exercise for the members.

The National Women’s Convention of the Apostolic Church, Ghana which was held nationwide at the area level had the Koforidua Area marked theirs at Betom, a suburb of Koforidua, in the Eastern Regional capital. It brought together hundreds of women from the 13 districts within the Koforidua Area of the church to give thanks to God for his mercies.

The convention which commenced on Thursday was climaxed on Sunday amidst praises and thanksgiving to God for his guidance, kindness, and protections for the past years.

This year’s National Women’s Convention of the Women’s Movement of the Church was on the theme “Come and See the Man Jesus”.
