The Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has refuted claims that the implementation of the free Senior High School, SHS has led to a decrease in the quality of education in 66 country.

Addressing a gathering of the Clergy, Imams, and opinion leaders in Dome-Kwabenya constituency, the Vice President said statistics show that the performance of students have rather improved in WASSCE than before.

He argued that it is untrue that the free SHS has led to a decrease in quality of education. He further called on the opinion leaders to consider the records of him and NDC candidate, John Mahama and vote for him on December 7th since Mahama failed abysmally as President despite the absence of a global economic crisis causing to cancel teachers and nurses training allowances and plunged the country into dumsor; NHIS virtually collapsed under him and country had only 37 ambulances.

Inspite of global economic challenges, the NPP has successfully implemented their main campaign promise in 2016 which is free SHS which has allowed more students particularly girls gone to school.

The Parliamentary candidate for Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Mike Oquaye  while addressing the gathering said roads in the constituency are been fixed and has also registered Dome Kwabenya residents on NHIS.
