Prof. Opoku-Agyemang bids farewell to WUA after six years of leadership

The running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has performed her final academic duty as a Chancellor of Women’s University in Africa (WUA).

In her farewell address on September 9, 2024, in Harare, Zimbabwe, the outgoing Chancellor Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang reflected on her six-year journey with the institution.

She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and acknowledged the significant impact the university had on her, as well as her hopes that the university also gained from her leadership.

Addressing the graduates, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang imparted practical wisdom, encouraging them to be diligent, serve selflessly, and not seek immediate rewards. She advised them to maintain focus in a world full of distractions, reminding them of the importance of standing for their beliefs.

She emphasized the value of helping others, explaining that in supporting those around them, graduates would discover their own strengths. The Chancellor urged them to remain humble and appreciative, particularly towards sponsors and funders who played a key role in their success.

In her closing remarks, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang asked the graduates to recognize the contributions of those working behind the scenes, such as laborers, drivers, and cleaners. With gratitude and care in her final words, she left the graduates inspired to carry her lessons forward in their lives and careers.
