The third match week of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League delivered thrilling encounters, late goals and key victories that are shaping the early season standings.

Vision FC managed to maintain their unbeaten start to the season, drawing 1-1 with Legon Cities thanks to Emmanuel Kyei Baffour’s late equalizer. Despite their dominant win against Accra Lions in the previous match, Vision FC couldn’t secure back-to-back victories, highlighting the competitive nature of this year’s league.

The match between Accra Lions and Karela United was another testament to the unpredictable excitement of the Ghana Premier League. Ezekiel Alladoh’s last-minute goal salvaged a point for Accra Lions, denying Karela United their first win of the season. The pulsating encounter at Naa Sheriga Stadium was a rollercoaster of emotions for fans, emphasizing how crucial every second can be in football.

At Dun’s Park, Bibiani Gold Stars celebrated their second consecutive win, overcoming the newly promoted Basake Holy Stars with a narrow 1:0 victory. The triumph on Sunday, September 22, 2024, solidified their strong start to the season and showcased their potential as serious contenders. The win was a significant boost for Bibiani, reinforcing their ambitions and building momentum.

The clash between Asante Kotoko and Young Apostles ended in a 1-1 draw, much to the surprise of many. Asante Kotoko, one of the league’s heavyweights, were held by the newly promoted side at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

Meanwhile, Aduana’s struggles continued as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Nations FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa. These results underscore the unpredictable nature of the league, where every match can defy expectations.

After a shaky start to the season, Hearts of Oak finally found their rhythm, securing a 2-0 victory over Bechem United at the University of Ghana Stadium. The Phobians’ first win of the campaign was a much-needed morale booster, breaking their cycle of back-to-back losses. This victory could mark the turning point for Hearts of Oak as they aim to climb the league table.

The week will conclude with Dreams FC facing Heart of Lions on Monday, September 23, 2024. Fans are also eagerly awaiting the rescheduled matches of Medeama SC vs FC Samartex and Nsoatreman FC vs Berekum Chelsea, postponed due to the clubs’ commitments in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, respectively.

This match week has set the stage for an exciting season, filled with twists, turns, and unyielding competition.
