Tamale South Member of Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, has confidently stated that John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has outperformed Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in Ghana’s Northern region.
In an exclusive interview on TV3’s Hot Issues, Haruna Iddrisu highlighted Mahama’s achievements, citing the initiation of the Eastern Corridor Roads project.
He also referenced Mahama’s 2015 declaration of Bupe as Ghana’s second industrial city during the Gunja Land Youth Association meeting.
Mr Iddrisu emphasized the potential of Bupe’s water source, connecting to Akosombo, to reduce road congestion and promote water travel.
He expressed optimism about Mahama’s chances in the Northern region, Northeast, and Savannah regions, acknowledging a competitive election but ultimately predicting Mahama’s victory.
The MP attributed Mahama’s popularity edge over Bawumia to his impressive track record.
He identified key constituencies, including Southern North, Damangu, and Dabwea, as crucial to the NDC’s success.
