In the wake of mounting scrutiny from the Save Ghana Football Forum, Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has come forward to staunchly defend the existence and operations of the management committee members of the national teams.

The forum had raised significant concerns regarding the integrity and transparency within the organisation, prompting a thorough probe into the association’s financial practices.

Central to the concerns raised by the Save Ghana Football Forum was an allegation that each member of the management committee received a substantial payment of $100,000 after the 2022 World Cup. During the probe, Kurt Okraku firmly denied these claims, stating unequivocally that the GFA never disbursed such amounts to committee members.

“We can’t dispute the role of a management committee in the management of our football. For the World Cup, it takes four years of hard work and management and sleepless nights and travelling on aircraft or in aircraft to secure qualification. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take two days,”  he said.

Closing his defence, Kurt Okraku stressed that management committees do not exist on paper, but they work, and everybody and all who have had the chance to be part of the national team can speak to that.
