Head Coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo, has announced his 25-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan in a double header.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Friday, October 4, 2024, Addo unveiled the team that will take on Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10, followed by an away game against the same opponent on October 15.
The selection includes a mix of seasoned players and promising talents, aimed at securing Ghana’s spot in AFCON 2025.
The squad sees the return of key players like Alexander Djiku who is expected to bring his experience and prowess to the field. The goalkeeping lineup features Lawrence Ati-Zigi from FC St. Gallen, Joseph Wollacott from Crawley Town and Frederick Asare from Asante Kotoko.
In defence, Alidu Seidu, Tariq Lamptey, Mohammed Salisu and Abdul Mumin are among the names who will be safeguarding Ghana’s backline, ensuring a strong defence against their opponents.
Midfield responsibilities will be shouldered by the likes of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United and Thomas Partey from Arsenal, while the forward line boasts the talents of Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Inaki Williams and Jordan Ayew.
