Former Ghanaian international Prince Tagoe believes the Black Stars will only succeed if the players can bring at least 80% of their club-level performances to the national team.
Ghana has struggled in their AFCON 2025 qualifiers, managing just two points from their first three games in Group F.
Their hopes of qualifying for the tournament took another hit after failing to win against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday.
The Black Stars’ poor run in the qualifiers, including a defeat to Angola and draws with Niger and Sudan, has raised concerns among supporters.
Ghana must deliver a significantly better performance in their next match to keep their AFCON 2025 qualification hopes alive.
“If the players can bring at least 80% of their club form, we will win matches. We have talented players, but their attitude towards Black Stars games is lacking, and that’s been our main issue,” Tagoe said in an interview with Bryt FM.
Ghana’s next challenge will be an away match in Tripoli, Libya, where they will face Sudan in the return leg. Otto Addo and his team need a positive result to stay in contention for a spot at AFCON 2025.
