2025 AFCON: Black Stars gear up for Libya with training session ahead of crunch clash with Sudan

The Black Stars of Ghana will resume training today, Sunday October at the Accra Sports Stadium in preparation for their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying second leg against Sudan.

After a scoreless draw in their initial clash on Thursday, October 10, 2024, the team is focused on clinching a win in the upcoming game to strengthen their qualification chances.

Following today’s training, the squad will depart for Benina, Libya, on Sunday, where they are set to hold a training session at the Benina Martyrs Stadium on Monday, . The second leg is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Ghana is currently third in Group F, with two points from three matches. Angola tops the group with nine points, Sudan follows with four, and Niger is last with one point.

A win against Sudan is crucial for the Black Stars to boost their hopes of securing a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament, to be hosted in Morocco.
