Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has issued a stern warning against unauthorized use of military-pattern uniforms and accoutrements during demonstrations.

In a statement released on Monday, October 14, GAF expressed concerns over individuals wearing unapproved military uniforms while providing security for public figures, despite previous warnings.

This practice has been increasing, with some individuals also wearing these uniforms around illegal mining areas.

GAF emphasized that unauthorized use of military uniforms poses significant security risks and tarnishes the military’s image.

According to GAF, protesters during demonstrations and individuals providing security for public figures have been spotted wearing military-pattern uniforms and accoutrements.

Similar incidents have occurred among persons operating in illegal mining areas and some political activists.

GAF warned that violators will face arrest and prosecution, urging the public to report suspicious activities involving unauthorized military attire.
