The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa says certified voter register for the 2024 general elections will be ready and made available to all political parties in the first week of November.
The EC Chairperson, made this known to the public during an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
In her welcome address, the EC chairperson re-assured stakeholders that her outfit is fully committed to ensuring the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the voters’ register, which will include all eligible voters registered during the registration exercises conducted in 2020, 2023, and 2024.
Mrs Mensa continued further saying “Over the last two weeks we have spent our energies to clean the Provisional Voter Register (PVR) to ensure the information presented on the register is accurate. Simply put, we have worked to ensure that every applicant who registered in 2020, 2023, and 2024 are in the voters register.
We are confident that the revised PVR that we present starting today is a marked departure from the register we presented during the exhibition exercise as largely all the discrepancies presented to date have been fixed.”
