Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to focus on developing local players for the Black Stars.

His comments came after the senior national team performed poorly in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. Ghana is currently third in Group F, with only two points from two draws and two losses, which puts their chances of qualifying for next year’s tournament in Morocco at risk.

Following a surprising 2-0 loss on Tuesday, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe stressed the importance of training local players for the senior team. He suggested that if talented players in Ghana are given three months of proper training, they could make a significant impact on the Black Stars.

He also emphasized that the GFA needs to be intentional about developing this strategy, which he believes would benefit the country.

Ghana’s last Group F games are against Niger and Angola next month. To qualify, they must win both matches and hope that Sudan drops points in their remaining games.
