Black Queens coach Nora Häuptle recently traveled to France to watch talented midfielder Mia Irene Gyau in a French Arkema Premier League match between Reims and Nante at the Stade de Reims.

Coach Häuptle’s trip was part of her efforts to find skilled players for the senior women’s national team ahead of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

While in France, Häuptle had a good discussion with Mia Irene Gyau. Mia’s grandfather, George Gyau, once played for the Black Stars, which could motivate her to join the Black Queens.

In recent weeks, Coach Häuptle has also been scouting other players, including Josephine Bonsu, who plays for Carl Zeiss Jena in Germany, and Princess Owusu, who plays for Ünye Kadin FK in Turkey.

Nora Häuptle plans to keep an eye on top players to strengthen the Black Queens’ squad for the 2025 WAFCON in Morocco.
