Four outstanding businesses that have made significant achievements and demonstrated exceptional commitment to the principles of KAIZEN in driving innovation and creativity have been honoured at the KAIZEN awards in Accra.
The Kaizen awards is organised by the Japan International Agency (JICA) in collaboration with the Ghana Enterprise Agency, Management Development Productivity Institute and the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Speaking at the event, Chief Executive of the Ghana Enterprise Agency, Kosi Yankey, stressed the importance of capacity building for MSMEs as a key driver to sustainable development.
She encouraged the adoption of KAIZEN principles across both the private and public sectors to promote greater efficiency.
The National KAIZEN Annual Award is a Japanese system adopted in Ghana that aims to inspire organisations to strive for excellence, share best practices like data-driven decision-making, and promote global competitiveness among MSMEs.
The management of KAIZEN believes the initiative will significantly contribute to creating a conducive business environment, which will, in turn, impact Ghana’s economic growth.
This year’s event saw awards in four categories: Micro, Medium, Large, and Overall Best. The winning companies included Yedest Agro Crop of Companies, Asheba Company, and Solution Oasis.
The CEO of Solution Oasis, Aseye Bakah, was named the overall best winner of this year’s Kaizen awards. The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Enterprise Agency, Kosi Yankey, highlighted the importance of the KAIZEN award, emphasising her organisation’s mandate to contribute significantly to the growth of MSMEs in Ghana.
The Chief Director of the Ministry of Trade and Industry affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to creating a vibrant and resilient ecosystem that ensures value addition for exports and promotes Ghanaian products.
Expressing her excitement, the CEO of Solution Oasis, Aseye Bakah, shared her positive experience with the KAIZEN initiative and how it has helped enhance her company’s operations.
The event, held under the theme “Exploring the Role and Contribution of KAIZEN in Promoting Innovation and Digitalisation in MSMEs,” underscores the role of innovation in the growth and sustainability of MSMEs.
