The National Democratic Party (NDP) has officially launched its national campaign for the upcoming December elections, with a message of hope and economic revival. As the country faces economic challenges, the NDP is presenting a new vision to “Refit” the Ghanaian economy with what the party calls “wheels of democracy” to turn the fortunes of the economy and restore the spirit of hope and prosperity among Ghanaians.

According to the party’s presidential candidate for the upcoming December general elections, Alhaji Mohammed Frimpong, his administration, if elected, will ensure the introduction and implementation of “green talents” and “zero unemployment” policies to tackle the issue of unemployment, especially among the youth.

The launch of the National Democratic Party’s (NDP) national campaign brought together party faithful and executives from various parts of the country. The event was also used to introduce parliamentary candidates standing on the party’s ticket in constituencies across the country.

According to the NDP, it will continue to promote its campaign messages tailored to the interests and needs of the people, with the hope that the party will make inroads in the upcoming December general elections.

Speakers at the event shared the party’s vision for economic transformation while emphasising the NDP’s commitment to regional development and how a “decentralised democracy” would empower communities across Ghana.

Alhaji Mohammed Frimpong, the presidential candidate for the upcoming December general elections, outlined a strategic plan that includes initiatives such as “zero unemployment” and “green talents” policies aimed at providing sustainable jobs, particularly for the youth. “We are giving the nation a primary and sufficient policy of governance and leadership that allows for inclusive and participatory leadership. We will also ensure there is critical and social infrastructure. When you are empowering people and training them, you also provide facilities that will make it possible to increase their productivity,” he said.

He stressed that his administration would also focus on a series of ambitious measures, with “primary and sufficient governance” and “decentralised democracy” being essential pillars for executing these policies. “The founders of this democracy had a vision, and that vision is what we call inclusive and participatory leadership. Unfortunately, this is not what we are seeing now. For that matter, we in the NDP are saying that it is time to take over the vehicle and refit it with what we call wheels of democracy,” he stated.

He also emphasised the need for “social and critical infrastructure” and stressed that economic growth must be inclusive and benefit all citizens across the country. “We do not have to leave our democracy hanging only at the house of the legislature or the presidency. We want to see our democracy working right in the nooks and crannies of our communities. In that way, the development that we seek will be accelerated. I can assure you that the government of the NDP will bring back joy onto the faces of every Ghanaian,” Alhaji Frimpong assured.

As the NDP’s campaign gathers momentum, the party has vowed to engage voters with targeted messages, prioritising the everyday needs of Ghanaians in their vision for economic revival.
