The Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA) organized an inaugural brainstorming workshop for clubs ahead of the 2024/25 football season, which is set to commence on November 9, 2024.
The aim of the workshop was to enhance football development in the region, ensuring benefits for local communities.
In attendance was the Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Richard Divine Bosson, who lauded the VRFA for the initiative, describing it as a sign of “new things to come” despite the challenges faced in running football.
The workshop was attended by close to 50 clubs and administrators.
It focused on key areas including grassroots football development, regional tournaments, facility upgrades and maintenance in the districts, best practices in football administration and governance, fan engagement, combating hooliganism, partnerships, sponsorships, and social media engagement, and the development of women’s football and beach soccer.
The Volta FA Chairman Daniel Agbogah encouraged club owners to implement the ideas discussed during the workshop.
He announced a GH₵5,000 cash prize for the league champion, as well as medals for zonal champions.
The Municipal Chief Executive then officially launched the league, marking the start of the regional football season across all league centers.
