The Chief Executive of the CEO Network Ghana, Ernest De-Graft Egyir, has emphasised the urgent need for the government to implement a decisive and actionable plan that prioritises environmental protection and the sustainability of natural resources for future generations.

He called for Ghana’s political manifestos to evolve beyond partisan promises, advocating for a coherent National Development Policy that endures beyond electoral cycles. Speaking at the first Ghana CEO -Presidential manifesto GALA dinner in Accra.

Mr. De-Graft Egyir stressed that political transitions should not hinder progress but rather build on a shared foundation that guarantees continuity, accountability, and sustainable development.

“Another critical focus of tonight’s discussions is the devastation caused by illegal mining, or galamsey. The environmental toll, economic disruption, and societal harm it has inflicted on our nation cannot be overstated. We will advocate for a bold and actionable pact to end galamsey, one that protects our environment and ensures the sustainability of our natural resources for future generations.

“As we discuss tonight’s theme, one thing becomes clear: Ghana’s political manifestos must evolve from partisan promises to a coherent National Development Policy that transcends electoral cycles.

“Our nation requires a unified, long-term vision that aligns with the aspirations of businesses, communities, and future generations. Political transitions should not disrupt progress. Instead, they should build upon a shared foundation that ensures continuity, accountability, and sustainable development.

The 2024 Ghana CEO– Presidential Manifesto GALA was on the theme: “Reigniting the Business Economy and Social Contract for Growth; A Business Manifesto for Political Accountability and Sustainable Development”. It focused on how business and political strategies can jointly foster sustainable growth and accountability.
