Ghana FA’s Head of Public Relations and Strategy, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, has dismissed rumors that President Kurt Okraku plans to run for a third term. He advised the public to consider these claims as just speculation unless an official statement is released.

Armstrong-Mortagbe explained that Okraku, who started his first term in 2019 after a close election and was re-elected unopposed in 2023, has repeatedly said he has three years left to complete his goals for Ghana football.

“This talk of a third term is only speculation and rumor at this stage. Until there is an official statement or solid evidence, people should treat it as just that—a rumor,” Armstrong-Mortagbe said in an interview.

He added, “At the FA, Kurt often reminds us he only has three years left to deliver on his promises to the football community.”

The current rules allow the GFA President to serve only two terms, so a third term would require major changes to the 2019 regulations.
