Acting Vice Chancellor of Methodist University College, Ghana, Rev. Professor Daniel Yao Bruce, says that as Ghana prepares for the December 7 elections, political leaders must shift their focus from personal attacks to addressing pressing national issues.
He said the country faces significant challenges, including unemployment, illegal mining, and inadequate infrastructure. It is, therefore, crucial that politicians prioritize these concerns and outline concrete plans such as sustainable job creation strategies, leveraging Ghana’s natural resources to drive economic growth, and proposing effective solutions to curb galamsey.
Speaking with GBCNEWS in Accra, Rev Yao Bruce reiterated that Ghanaians must demand issue-based campaigns and reject material inducements from politicians.
“It is essential to prioritize national interest over partisan gains. And has urged citizens to ensure their votes count towards a brighter future for the country.’
Private Legal Practitioner, Ace Ankoma in a contribution said the main characters in this year’s polls must ensure peace, tolerance, and respect for opposing views. Mr. Ankomah entreated all to join the clarion call for peace and a violence-free electoral process, and to recognize that every life is precious. “No Ghanaian must die because of this election”.
