Kofi Koranteng, an independent presidential candidate for Ghana’s 2024 elections, has announced an ambitious plan to transform the country’s agriculture sector.
Speaking on GTV’s Presidential Encounter program on November 18, 2024, Mr. Koranteng pledged to invest $10 billion annually into agriculture over the next 10 years if elected.
Mr. Koranteng expressed his vision of positioning Ghana as a global leader in agriculture.
According to him, this massive investment would revolutionise the sector, boost food production, and ensure food security for the nation.
“Ghana has the potential to become the agricultural hub of the world,” he stated confidently.
The presidential hopeful highlighted the role of modern technology in achieving this goal. He plans to introduce drone technology and mechanised farming systems to improve the efficiency and quality of agricultural output.
This, he believes, will not only enhance local food consumption but also create export opportunities.
