In a significant diplomatic move, the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Defa Tong, recently visited the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) to strengthen the bond between China and Ghana through media collaboration.
Ambassador Defa Tong emphasized the importance of media in uncovering real stories from both countries and showcasing daily life to the world.
“So, I think the media from those countries, you can copy it a lot, uncovering what’s happening here and what’s happening in China, you know, to both the other side. So let people know what’s the real story, what’s behind the story, the normal people’s daily life, what it looks like in China”, Ambassador Defa Tong said.
During the visit, Director-General Prof. Amin Alhassan of GBC discussed the station’s eagerness to create compelling content by sharing Ghanaian narratives globally.
This collaborative effort signifies a promising step towards improving cross-cultural communication between China and Ghana.
Prof. Alhassan expressed gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with the Chinese counterparts and highlighted GBC’s readiness to work in tandem for mutual benefit and cultural exchange.
