The Deputy Commissioner in Charge of Corporate Services at the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr. Bossman Asare, has provided information on the upcoming Special Voting process for the 2024 general election.

Dr. Asare revealed that Special Voting is set to take place on December 2, ahead of the main elections on December 7.

With meticulous planning, the EC has designated 328 voting centers across the country for this important exercise. Dr. Bossman emphasized that each constituency will have a maximum of 750 individuals participating in Special Voting to ensure efficiency. In cases where a center exceeds this number, it will be appropriately divided to accommodate all voters.

The special voting will be held for personnel whose duties will be essential during the main Parliamentary and Presidential elections. Journalists, Security Personnel, Election officials and other essential service providers are among those who will participate in the special elections slated for December 2, 2024.

Moreover, he urged Ghanaians that It is crucial for those eligible for Special Voting to mark December 2 on their calendars as their names will not be included in the voter register during the main elections on December 7. This proactive step ensures that voters get the opportunity to cast their ballots without any hitches.

Furthermore, Dr. Bossman’s emphasis on the specific date for Special Voting underscores the importance of timely and accurate participation in the electoral process.
