Renowned Ghanaian Counsellor Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, popularly known as Counselor Lutterodt, has expressed his hopes for President John Dramani Mahama as he returns to office as president.

In an interview during the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Counsellor Lutterodt emphasised the need for continuity and progress.

“You are expected to do what must be done by what must be done. His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana is a father to all of us in Ghana, and for that matter, we are all expecting a good Ghana,” he stated.

According to Counsellor Lutterodt, Ghanaians expect a “slight shift, not a major shift” from the previous government. He highlighted the importance of completing ongoing projects and ensuring that the country’s financial state guides decision-making, as stipulated in Article 35 of the constitution.

Counsellor Lutterodt also praised President Mahama’s predecessor, saying, “Mahama did a lot before he left. We had his name on a lot of things. There were many things that we associated with him. He has brought a new thing. Let’s see it happening again for us this particular year.”

Counsellor Lutterodt’s expectations resonate with President Mahama’s manifesto promises, emphasising the need for effective governance and sustainable development.

As President Mahama begins his second term, Counsellor Lutterodt’s words serve as a reminder of the high expectations placed upon him. The counsellor’s emphasis on continuity, progress, and responsible governance underscores the importance of President Mahama’s leadership in shaping Ghana’s future.
