The Ghana Football Association (GFA), has officially appointed Stephen Frimpong Manso as the new Head Coach of the Male National Under-17 team, the Black Starlets.

This decision comes as the GFA aims to revitalise the team and enhance its performance on the international stage. Frimpong Manso, a seasoned tactician with a rich coaching history, is expected to bring fresh energy and strategic insight to the young squad.

Frimpong Manso’s extensive coaching career has seen him at the helm of several prominent clubs, including Stade d’Abidjan, Asante Kotoko, Karela United, B.A. United, Kessben FC (now Medeama SC), and Nkoranza Warriors.

His current role as the Head Coach of Bibiani Gold Stars in the Ghana Premier League showcases his ongoing commitment to developing football talent in the country. With such a diverse background, his appointment signals a new chapter for the Black Starlets as they prepare for future competitions.

One of Frimpong Manso’s standout qualities is his ability to identify and nurture young talent. Having previously coached the Black Starlets from 2009 to 2010 and served as their Assistant Coach, he is no stranger to the challenges and expectations that come with leading a youth team. His experience with the Black Meteors, Ghana’s U-23 national team, further solidifies his capability to guide young players toward success. This familiarity with youth development will be invaluable as the Black Starlets gear up for their upcoming international assignments.

To bolster Frimpong Manso’s leadership, Nana Kweku Agyemang and Jacob Nettey have been retained as Assistant Coaches.

Their presence will ensure a robust technical setup, allowing for a collaborative approach to coaching. This team of coaches is poised to create an environment where young players can thrive, learn, and develop their skills, fostering a strong sense of teamwork and discipline.
