The Ghana Premier League matchday 17 produced some thrilling encounters, with several teams securing crucial victories to boost their standings.
Asante Kotoko delivered a commanding performance to defeat Vision FC 4-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium, extending their unbeaten run to five matches. Kwame Opoku was the star of the show, netting twice in a first-half blitz that left Vision FC reeling.
In other matches, Nsoatreman FC ended their nine-match winless run with a hard-fought victory over visiting Karela United, while Berekum Chelsea secured a dramatic late victory over Medeama. The Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samreboi witnessed an intense yet goalless encounter between FC Samartex and Hearts of Oak. Basake Holy Stars scored a late equaliser to deny Aduana Stars a win, while Legon Cities ended their five-game losing streak in style, defeating Dreams FC 3-0.
Bechem United extended their unbeaten run to eight matches with a hard-fought goalless draw against Young Apostles. Bibiani GoldStars thumped strugglers Accra Lions 3-0, with Samuel Atta-Kumi scoring a hat trick. Hearts of Oak suffered their first back-to-back defeat in the Ghana Premier League since May 2024 after a narrow 1-0 loss to Nations FC.
The results saw some significant changes in the league standings. Bibiani GoldStars moved to the top of the table after the first round of the Ghana Premier League, while Asante Kotoko closed in on the leaders. Bechem United remained in fifth place, and Legon Cities climbed off the bottom of the table but remained in the relegation zone.
