Governance analyst Frederick Agyarko Oduro has shared his perspectives on President Mahama’s appointees during his discussion on GTV Breakfast Show, January 20, 2025 with Thelma Tackie. Sharing his vision for improved governance, Oduro stated that if he were President, he would prioritize eliminating the position of Regional Ministers.

According to Oduro, the role of Regional Ministers has become redundant in the current governmental framework. He argues that the responsibilities traditionally assigned to these officials can be effectively handled by other existing governmental structures, eliminating the need for the position entirely.

“This is not about politics; it’s about improving efficiency,” Oduro emphasized. “The current system might benefit from fewer layers of governance.”

He believes that scrapping the role would not only streamline operations but also reduce bureaucratic redundancies and cut administrative costs, enabling the government to function.
