Parliament has approved the first batch of ministerial nominees nominated by President John Dramani Mahama after a thorough vetting and debate process.
The approved nominees are Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister for Finance, Dr. Dominic Ayine as Attorney General and Minister for Justice, and John Jinapor as Minister for Energy.
The vetting, carried out by the Appointments Committee on Monday, January 13, 2025, examined the nominees’ qualifications, experience, and plans for their new roles.
After the vetting, the committee submitted its report to Parliament, leading to a debate on the nominees’ abilities and how they plan to address the country’s challenges.
Following the discussions, Members of Parliament voted to approve the nominees, allowing them to officially begin their duties.
This approval marks the first step in President Mahama’s efforts to form a strong team to deliver on his government’s priorities.
