Kofi Adams, the Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency and Minister of Sports and Recreation-Designate, has expressed his belief that the key to success as the new Minister of Sports and Recreation lies in sincerity and integrity.

Adams, who has been nominated for the role, emphasized that a genuine commitment to the position is crucial for effective leadership in the sports sector. His remarks come as he prepares to undergo the Parliamentary Vetting Committee’s approval process.

The 49-year-old lawmaker, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with a specialization in the Epidemiology of Parasitic Diseases, articulated his vision for the ministry.

“If you approach the Sports Ministry with sincerity and a pure heart, you will succeed,” he stated during his appearance on GHOne TV.

Adams also called for a renewed focus on grassroots sports, stressing the importance of implementing initiatives that support young athletes and local sports programs. “Let’s return to grassroots sports and implement them effectively,” he urged, indicating that fostering talent at the community level is essential for the overall growth of sports in the country.

As Adams prepares for his upcoming appearance before the Parliamentary Vetting Committee, there is a sense of anticipation surrounding his potential confirmation. If approved, he will succeed Mustafa Ussif, who has served as the Sports Minister since 2021 under President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration. The transition in leadership comes at a time when the sports sector is looking for renewed direction and support.
