The mortal remains of a retired staff of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), the late Mr. John-Paul Tang Kongkuu, have been laid to rest at Eremong-Danko in Lawra Municipality of the Upper West Region.
Mr Kongkuu, who was affectionately known as John-Paul, died on 25th December, 2024, just after retiring early in September, 2024, after more than 26 years of service to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in Wa as a driver.
Among the mourners who converged on Eremong-Danko for the requiem mass and burial were GBC staff led by the Acting Upper West Regional Director, Emmanuel Mensah-Abludo, Members of the Knights of St. John International from the St. Cecilia Commandery, No. 517 which John-Paul was a member, as well as other Commanderies across Upper West and the Member of Parliament of Lawra, Bede Ziedeng.
The line that ran through the fond memories people shared about John-Paul was that, he was honest and forthright with his thoughts.
To some, the late Mr John Paul Tang Kongkuu’s “extreme honesty” at times worked to his own disadvantage, but he persisted on the right track till his demise. A resolution of sympathy signed by the Worthy President of Commandry No. 517, Captain Sebastian Gan, and the Secretary Captain Blaise Norongnaa Bein called on all brothers to pray the mystery of the Holy Rosary each week for the next four weeks for the peaceful repose of the late Mr John-Paul Tang Kongkuu. He left behind four children.
They are Judith Kongkuu, Ernest Nuoyong Kongkuu, Edina Asenge Kongkuu, and Ellen Wamaal Kongkuu.
