A tragic accident occurred on Monday evening, February 3, 2025, along the Stadium to Kabore Junction road in the Ho Municipality of the Volta region, resulting in the death of an unidentified woman and leaving six others, including school children, with life-threatening injuries.
The accident took place around 5:30 PM when a pragia, commonly referred to as Mahama-Can-Do, collided with an Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck bearing registration number GJ 3226-21. The woman, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Six other passengers, including school children returning from school, sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment at the Ho Teaching Hospital and the Municipal Hospital respectively. Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision, and further details are expected to be released as the situation develops.
Residents along that stretch of the road have been left in shock by the incident, while police and road safety officials are urging drivers to exercise caution on the roads to prevent such tragedies in the future.
